Wow, you gotta wonder if his arm was yellow, cause he got taken out like a PUNK!  Clearly this took place before Geoff Johns got a hold of Hal and made him cool again!  Bahlactus doesn’t need Geoff Johns because he has always been as cool as the other side of the pillow!  Go look upon his and the rest of the FNF’ers greatness, tell ‘em Munson sent ya!

So, the above child perched on my shoulder is young Samantha Carter, newly born daughter to my best friend Kevin and his wife Desire.  The Munsonwife and I journeyed down to North Carolina to visit them last week to meet their little bundle of joy, and let me tell you… she’s an awesome kid.   I had a ton of fun meeting her, and hanging out with Kevin and Des.  Here’s some more pics of the little rugrat:

I took this picture when Kevin had to pick up his two dogs from the groomers and the ladies were busy getting a facial.  I had the little bugger all to myself and we bonded!

Here’s the first picture that I took of her about 20 minutes after we arrived.  Look at those eyes!

She’s adorable, and Kevin and Des have really taken to parenthood, but BOY I can’t wait to watch Kevin in about 15 years or so when he has to meet Samantha’s first date.  I will be there with popcorn and beer, watching the debacle unfold!

All I can say about this edition of Friday Night Fights is…. God  Bless the Silver Age!!!!  Batman faces off against…… Bork!?!?!?!?!?!  Bahlactus and the other FNF’ers all agree that Bork should never be able to punk out the Bat! 

Yeah, that’s gonna leave a mark!  Bahlactus knows how to guard his grill! He wouldn’t go out like that Batman lite fool the Raven.  He’d go up side The Grand’s head with the power he gains from the Friday Night Fights, so go check him and the rest of the FNF’ers out and tell ‘em Munson sent ya.

What have I been busy with?  Firstly, I have been actively selling parts of my Comic Collection via Ebay!  WHAT!!!!!  Yes my little munsonites, that is not a typo!   I have been weeding out some of the books in my collection that I see no need to hang on to anymore (or things that I have duplicates of in trade or hardcover).  Hopefully, THE ABYSS! will be a little smaller in the future.  Honestly, I’ll just be psyched when the comics only take up one side of the room.

In vacation type news, MunsonWife and I just got back from Costa Rica, where we had an amazing time with a group of friends that have been pestering us for years to go away with them.  We finally took them up on their offer, and let me tell you, that country is going to be THE place to go in a few short years (if it is not already).  We stayed in a villa straight out of MTV cribs, and the weather and scenery was amazing.  If I get any sort of money together in the next ten years, I am moving there folks!  I am going off the grid, away from the crazy rat race, and sit in the sun and soak in a pool all day (just remember you heard it here first when I disappear for real).  Pictures of this wonderful vacation are coming to Munsonisms! so you can all enjoy the wonder that is Costa Rica.

In terms of the home front, the MunsonHome is going to be getting a face lift over the next couple of months!  We’re talking new windows, new doors, new paint, new bedroom furniture (to create an actual spare bedroom)….. the WORKS!  It’s gonna cost some coin, but it’ll be worth it in the end.  We’ve been in the house for close to three years, and it’s just time to start that home owning upkeep thing that all home owners swear is going to kill them.   I’ll be sure to give you updates on that process from time to time.

Now everybody who has visited this site has come here for one of two reasons:

1) you actually know me and are curious what in God’s name I am doing on the internet.

2) You have come here for my celebrated column: Milestone Mondays!

Well, if you are part of option number 2, I have some great news for you.  Soon.. very soon… that column will be making it’s return!  Where will it return to you ask?  Why the place where it all started Always Bet On Bahlactus!.  Bahlactus and I have been discussing a return home for that column, mainly because it just fits better on his website (which is devoted to all kinds of ethnically diverse comic-book goodness) and because I seriously need a kick in the pants to get that column done on a weekly basis.  Bahlactus is more than happy to be the provider of said kick, and as soon as we get the details together, I ‘ll let you know when that feature will be making it’s triumphant comeback.  Seriously, that column has had more starts and stops than a stick shift truck in rush hour traffic, and I appreciate the fact that people actually want their Milestone fix.  I won’t let anyone down this time, I promise (mostly because Bahlactus won’t let me).

Where does that leave Munsonisms you may wonder?  Well I have been thinking about that alot lately, and realize that just another comic book blog is not what the internet needs.  There are a ton out there, and let’s face it, the good ones really kick serious butt!  With that little nugget of knowledge,  I am going to turn this little web blog into a much more personal site.  A little bit of a glimpse into me and my life if you will.  Will comics still be a part of this blog, Hell Yes!  Those four colored beauties are a very large part of my life, and will get there fair share of space on this blog.  Just expect more things like vacation pictures, or thoughts about the presidential race (don’t even get me started), or fantasy baseball updates (the West Roxbury Munsonmaniacs are currently 3-0), or whatever the heck I feel like writing about.  And If I can learn how to manipulate the necessary programs, there just may be some PODCASTS in the future for you all to listen to and enjoy.  Imagine it folks, a little MUNSONCAST, to brighten up your otherwise dreary day.  It brings a tear to my eyes just thinking about it.

That my friends is gonna leave a mark!  Wildstorm is just chock full of fun comics, even though they really can’t decide on a direction for their line lately (Worldstorm appears to have been kind of a bust)!  Bahlactus and the Friday Night Fighters do not in any way shape or form suffer from a lack of direction….. they bring action galore every Friday, so go and bask in their glory!
