Now admittedly, the plot was that the Chameleon ( the lamest Spidey villain of all time ) had stolen Cap’s identity causing a serious “Identity Crisis” when Iron Man faced off against the real Cap:
Of course, the villain does eventually screw up, and Cap and Iron Man make up and take him down, and in the end we have an “after-school special with Iron Man” moment:
Methinks Marvel read this story before the 800 lb. gorilla known as Civil War made it’s debut, but they didn’t learn anything from the friendly “I learned something about myself today” ending…. I think they only learned what was written on the cover blurb:
They really should have stuck that on the cover to Civil War #1, then I wouldn’t feel so cheated!
